COVID-19 lingering impact

In July 2021, “long COVID,” also known as post-COVID conditions, was added as a recognized condition that could result in a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).1

Those with long COVID may exhibit symptoms such as fatigue, muscle weakness, cognitive impairment (or "brain fog"), and sleep difficulties. Some people with post-COVID conditions have symptoms that are not explained by tests or easy to manage.2

In response to COVID-19, we have enhanced our Care Management Program to consider the needs of this population. If you have a patient you would like to refer to our Care Management Program, call the National Provider Service Line at 800-397-1630 to make a referral. Our clinicians will review the request and follow up with the member as appropriate.
